In General, Inspirations

It’s May in Indiana and that means we are seeing an abundance of black and white prints and checkered flag products to commemorate the 105th Running of “Greatest Spectacle in Racing”, The Indianapolis 500 Race.  So, we thought in this month’s blog we’d share some Black and White Inspirations from the design world with you.  So, sit back and enjoy our Ode to Monochromatic Designs.

Across the globe monochromatic spaces are being designed. The Hotel Mono in Singapore was named as such to reflect the monochromatic palette the designers created.

This studio space in Moscow was created for an artist engaged in contemporary art.  The main criteria in creating this space was that the artist wanted everything white and to have nothing to interfere with his concentration.  The result is still a stunning contemporary studio and apartment worthy of any artist.  Click here for more on this project.

Want your outdoor entertaining with some monochromatic flare?  We are loving how different each of these spaces are, yet they have the same black and white color scheme.

These living room spaces show that a black and white color palette can be achieved in any design style, from traditional to contemporary and everywhere in between.

This pitch-black media room may be the best place ever to watch tv and chill. The L shaped sofa and red ottoman together provide a place to stretch out and recharge. The painted brick wall adds statement-making character. A gallery wall brightens the room with pops of color.

By contrast, this beautifully traditional media room is still a welcoming retreat for any movie buff.  The totally monochromatic room offers up, warmth and class with it’s use of traditional seating and classic sconces along with black and white trimmed walls.

We’d definitely love to hang out in either of these spaces.

Even the smallest humans in your home can find peace and comfort with a black and white color palette.  We are loving the uniqueness of these monochromatic kids rooms.
